A marine and freshwater aquarium located by the Cheshire Oaks retail and leisure complex in Ellesmere Port. At the time of opening 20 years ago, Blue Planet Aquarium was the largest aquarium in the country, and till this day, it remains the largest in North West England.
Nowadays, you can view Europe’s largest collection of sharks through the captivating 71-metre underwater tunnel – you can even swim with them! That’s right, Blue Planet Aquarium offers shark-dive experiences for swimmers of various levels and ages. It’s also home to over 100 living displays and thousands of marine creatures from around the world, so you’re bound to find something fun for the whole family!
The expert marine biologists and staff host daily talks and feed shows throughout the week in the Aquatheatre! Get up close and personal with all your favourite marine life, meeting old faces and encountering species you never even knew existed! An exciting underwater journey awaits!
